Director of OPAL adults for 10 years, Jean coaxed her
late husband James Rogers, M.D. to be in plays after
retiring from Emory University. He loved it and
Oldsmar’s small town feeling. Jean is working to
complete a degree in Counseling and Creative Arts at
Eckerd.
She is a prize winner in miniature intaglio techniques
and has taught at Evening at Emory. She is certified in
One-Stroke folk art and a Letters member of the National
League of American Pen Women. Jean enjoys painting
Florida scene murals and has numerous photography
awards. She was director/administrator of the Longboat
Key Art Center when she lived there, and still owns
property on the island.
Jean has been involved in plays since high school and
tutored at Oldsmar Elementary during the 1980s. She
loves the close proximity of so much to do in Oldsmar.
She will never forget the turnout and caring shown at
her husband’s “Celebration of Life” memorial in 2005.
